While world leaders, activists, and politicians are pushing for net-zero emission by 2050 globally, we all try to live sustainably in every day of our lives. Although it isn’t always easy (or the most cost-effective) to consider the future of our children’s livelihoods, we can rest easier at night knowing that we are making an effort.

Although net zero by 2050 may not sound like a realistic goal, there are times when innovators from the commercial sector can lift our spirits and keep us on the right track through the creation of sustainable technology. Air Company, a brand that creates sustainable technology and spirits, is doing exactly this.

Air Company was founded by Gregory Constantine, an entrepreneur, and Dr. Stafford Sheehan. They make vodka, perfume and hand sanitizer using CO2 taken from the air we breath. Air Company products are not only carbon-neutral but also carbon-negative. If you don’t know what carbon neutral and carbon negative mean, here’s an overview.

What exactly is Carbon Neutral?

If a company or brand offsets its annual carbon emissions, it is called carbon neutral. Many companies buy carbon offset credits which help reduce carbon emissions. But, purchasing carbon offsets does not reduce the amount of carbon that is emitted by a company’s manufacturing processes. Companies that are truly sustainable understand they must do more.

An authentic sustainable brand will invest in sustainable processes and make sure they are implemented. Anchor Brewing, for example, partnered with Cambrian in order to install a wastewater treatment system within its brewery. This will help save millions of gallons annually as well as decompress municipal water processing and reduce CO2 emissions.

What’s Carbon Negative?

As you’ve likely guessed, a company that claims to be carbon neutral must emit less carbon than it produces. There are only one company that could make the carbon neutral claim, and we couldn’t find any. Air Company, you guessed it.

How Air Company Is Carbon Negative

There is plenty of science behind the simple answer. Air Company has a unique technology, the Carbon Conversion Reactor. This converts carbon dioxide into alcohols or ethanol. The only inputs it has are water (CO2) and air (renewable energies), and oxygen and water (the only byproducts). It can be thought of as mimicking the process of photosynthesis but with a higher efficiency.

Air Company Northeast partners capture carbon dioxide and retain it until being released into the atmosphere. This is combined with the green hydrogen it produces on-site at its Brooklyn lab, then goes into the reactor. The catalyst, the Carbon Conversion Reactor, reacts with both of these inputs to create our alcohol mixture. This mixture is then distillated to remove the ethanol that was used in its creation. This proprietary system is patentable and forms the basis for all future products.

Air Company currently produces vodka that is deliciously pure, as well as a gentle, yet powerful hand sanitizer and a fragrance that is gender neutral. Air Company’s entire process of capturing, compressing, compressing, and transporting the CO2 to make these products produces approximately 0.1kg of CO2 for every 1 kg CO2 we receive. Air Company’s CO2 emissions are 90% less than the carbon dioxide they produce when it arrives. The hydrogen production and the conversion process are powered by renewable energy. This results in a net-negative overall process.

Air Company Contribution to Net Zero Future

Air Company’s technology has the potential to dramatically reduce carbon emissions worldwide and contribute towards achieving its goal of net zero. Although the company’s product range is limited, they have just started work at a larger Brooklyn lab with a more powerful Carbon Conversion Reactor, which can generate 10 times as much carbon dioxide than the original model. Air Company will be able to meet more customers and offset even more carbon emissions once the lab is up and running.

This is only the tip of an iceberg. Visit the Air Company website to see how Air Company’s technology can be used commercially. This includes sugar, jet/rocket fuel and other products. Constantine is unable to give details at this time, but the company intends to expand into other categories later in the year.

Air Company’s technology can only be successful if it partners with other industry leaders. NASA currently supports the company in their efforts to transform CO2 into glucose, and proteins. Air Company is able to work together with other companies in the carbon technology sector. This support will allow them to continue developing technology. Air Company will continue to expand and you’ll see more companies pursuing the same goal of helping humanity.

We can reduce 10.8% global carbon dioxide emissions if our technology is used across all verticals. This is more than 4.6 million tons of carbon dioxide per year, which has a significant impact on climate change. We are currently working towards this goal. It is crucial to support consumers

Even if you don’t like vodka or have enough hand soap to last a decade, Air Company is something you need to keep in mind if you are serious about sustainability. The decisions we make with our money have a greater impact on our futures than any other thing we do every day. It is crucial to support companies such as Air Company in order for our great-grandkids and grand-grandkids to have a better future than scientists currently predict.

If vodka is your favorite, you should stock up. Reclaimed CO2 is a great way to make your skin smell nice. Let’s face it, hand soap is a must-have.

Faqs

– Generate electricity without emissions.
– Use vehicles and equipment that are powered by electricity instead of fossil fuels.
– Use energy more efficiently.
– Remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

What are Net-Zero Products? Overall, Net Zero refers to the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero by balancing the amount released into the atmosphere from industrial sources with the amount that is removed and stored in carbon sinks.04-Jun-2021

Net-Zero carbon emissions mean that an activity releases net-zero carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Net-Zero emissions balance the whole amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) released and the amount removed from the atmosphere.Net-Zero carbonNet-Zero carbonA Zero Energy Building (ZEB), also known as a Net Zero Energy (NZE) building, or a Zero Net Energy (ZNE) building, is a building with net zero energy consumption, meaning the total amount of energy used by the building on an annual basis is equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the site or in other https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Zero-energy_buildingZero-energy building – Wikipedia emissions mean that an activity releases net-zero carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Net-Zero emissions balance the whole amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) released and the amount removed from the atmosphere.08-Jun-2021

Achieving net-zero emissions means that some greenhouse gases are still released, but these are offset by removing an equivalent amount of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and storing it permanently in soil, plants, or materials.27-Oct-2021

We’ve all heard the term net zero, but what exactly does it mean? Put simply, net zero refers to the balance between the amount of greenhouse gas produced and the amount removed from the atmosphere. We reach net zero when the amount we add is no more than the amount taken away.

Conclusion

People should try to live sustainably in their everyday lives while also trying to reduce carbon emissions. A company called Air Company is making sustainable technology and spirits, a vodka that is deliciously pure, as well as perfume and hand sanitizer using CO2 taken from the air we breath. Air Company
